Who owns sally acorn

Because of this Sally is just as official as any other major Sonic character. Now I do not hate Amy, though it annoys the heck out of me when I see people saying Sally is not canon and so on. They are two entirely different characters if you could even call Ricky a "character"; he's more of a "species" , designed by two entirely different people , on two entirely different continents.

By using her same logic you could say that Peter Griffin is, in actuality, Homer Simpson solely because he happens to be loosely based off of him. It's just silly. There was absolutely no communication whatsoever between either Sally or Ricky's respective character creators during their designing processes, and they hold nothing in common aside from having somewhat similar appearances and appearing within two very different branches of the same entertainment franchise.

Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball has no bearing whatsoever on the Sonic Team universe canon, as it was developed by the third party Sega Technical Institute. It should also be worth noting that it was Sally Acorn who made a cameo appearance in this game, and not Ricky.

The opposite could be said for Sonic X , and that's just fine; Ricky is canon to the Sonic Team universe upon which that animated series was based off of, after all. It should also be noted that neither case is relevant, as none of these take place within Sonic Team's Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Because that's her name, and she isn't Ricky.

Now, with that aside, let's address the big picture here. There is no singular "SEGA canon". There are many SEGA canons, all canonical to their respective universe. The main canon featured within the games takes place within Sonic Team's Sonic the Hedgehog universe. They're all valid canons within their own respective universes, and SEGA owns the rights to all of these properties.

They are all "SEGA canons", all being "official" material. What this poster seems to be referring to is the canon featured within the games, which takes place in Sonic Team's Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Sally Acorn is not canon to this universe at all, no. She has not appeared in any Sonic Team-developed game, and most probably never will. It's also worth noting that either way, Amy Rose has been around longer than Sally Acorn.

Shogakukan's Sonic the Hedgehog Shogaku Yonensei the manga in which Amy Rose made her debut began publication in , whilst Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog the comic book series in which Sally Acorn made her debut didn't begin print until Apparently Sega of Japan liked the character, so they put her in the video game Sonic the Hedgehog CD , as well as a few other minor spin-off titles, such as the Sonic Drift series.

Third party developers also appeared to have latched onto the character, featuring her as a regular in many of the titles released between to Sonic Team decided to make her a canonical series staple beginning with the release of Sonic Adventure , and she's been here ever since! Believe it or not Robert Leffler and Dyna Lopez work in Sega Licensing and the script has to get approved, the pencils have to get approved, the inking, then the lettering, then the coloring. Everything has to go through them first.

I know there was some confusion elsewhere concerning rights to SatAM. Because Sega didn't want to rule out the possibility of using Sally in the future, it was decided she should live. Learning Languages Through Video Games. Posted 11 December - AM This is an excellent topic i think that archie and Dic deserve to own Sally because they are the only people who tried to keep sally or atleast use her because sega doesn't even bother with sally in any of the games except sonic spinball.

I also don't understand why sega saved sally from being killed if they don't even use her in any of the games or other related things. It is kind of sad in my oppinion sally and the rest of the freedom fighters play a big part in sonics world. This is an excellent topic i think that archie and Dic deserve to own Sally because they are the only people who tried to keep sally or atleast use her because sega doesn't even bother with sally in any of the games except sonic spinball.

As for who should own them, that is a different story. I think whoever can treat the characters and their relationships especially Sonic and Sally with respect should be the ones to own the rights. All three companies did a great job with their presentation of Sonic's world. Notice I use the past tense though. I love the Genesis Sonic games, the original Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Heroes but can't stand most of the newer games the 15th anniversary version of Sonic the Hedgehog especially.

The games are number one in my book just because they started the whole thing. I actually just finished watching the box set of SatAM today and thought the last episode was awesome. Sonic Underground, on the other hand, makes me want to hurl.

As for the comics, I loved them as a kid. Now they're just milking the cash cow though. They ran much longer than they needed to. And I was outraged when I learned that they tried to kill of Sally then brought her back. Such is the nature of comic books though. Why did Sonic and Sally break up? What did Sonic and Sally do in Sonic the Hedgehog?

When did Sonic and Sally first come out? Who is the princess in Sonic the Hedgehog? How did Sonic and Sally escape from Robotnik?

Is the character Sally Acorn an official Sega character? Is Sega working on a Sonic game?
